Seattle and beyond...

Growing my business has been a slow moving, work-in-progress over the past 6 months. At times I still find it hard to say "my business", like there should be a "just kidding, its not a real business, its just my hobby" kind of statement directly following it. But alas, it is one of my goals to have a successful photography business, and that's what I keep working towards...slowly but surely...

Just recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and spend the day with the super talented photographer Jessica Feely (her blog is here). She's a great mentor and I learned SO SO much from her throughout the day. She was so gracious, especially when she's so busy, to take a whole day to help me with my business. I hope one day I can return the favor for someone else starting out! Thanks Jessica for sharing all your knowledge and experience with me, it was greatly appreciated! I will pay it forward someday=)

That said, one of the things we did was take pictures! Downtown Seattle, with it's urban appeal was a perfect setting for a photo shoot, with a very lovely couple I might add. With these guys it was hard to take a bad picture, they might as well been professional models! Thanks for spending some time with us and putting up with me tagging along! I enjoyed it completely! Now...my shots from that day...

Matt and Megan are Married!

Congrats Matt and Megan on your marriage! I think that you guys are such great individuals, it was a pleasure getting to know you. In my opinion, you two are so perfect for each other, and I love that I get to show that through these pictures! I had so much fun capturing your special day and I'm so grateful that you had faith in me, seeing as though this was my first wedding to photograph! Thank you, thank you, thank you...and I wish both of you the longest, happiest life together=) Congratulations! Now on to the photos...

I loved Megan's dress! She looked just gorgeous on her wedding day and her flowers were so simple and beautiful!

The girls preparations for the wedding took place downtown at Be Salon. What a great salon! Everyone was super nice and helpful, not to mention talented stylists. To boot it was such a cool salon architecturally, and therefore had a great backdrop for some beautiful bridal shots!

While the girls were busy getting pretty the boys were getting the five star treatment at an amazing barber shop downtown called Reds. This place just oozes manly-ness. It was such a fun place to snap some shots of the guys. Even though they were packed with customers, everyone was so nice and pleasant and they didn't mind me buzzing around with my camera.

 You two are so perfect for each other! What a great pair=) By the way Matt, you looked pretty handsome yourself!

I was so happy when Matt and Megan decided to do a "first look" before the ceremony! I was able to capture some adorable shots of them as they each saw each other for the first time...What a fun moment.

Then we headed to the ceremony location~ The clock tower at the gardens on the campus of Butler University~ what a unique, picturesque place to tie the knot!!

 And the first kiss...enough said!

Just following the ceremony, we decided to take a stroll a little farther into Holcomb Gardens for some portraits...glad we did, these are some of my favorite images from the day! 

  One word...Beautiful!

 We just stumbled upon some pretty blankets and colorful pillows in the shade of a big old tree...seriously? Needless to say it made for some cute shots...

After the knot was tied and the memories recorded the wedding party moved to Mama Corrolla's to enjoy exquisite cuisine and the best part... celebrate!
